GHCN Weather Data Cube

The data table from which this cube is created was compiled from surface weather archives downloaded from the NCDC (National Climatic Data Center) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
There are 13 measures from 16 different weather stations (locations). The name of the station and the date are two of the three dimensions. Anteaus automatically generates a date measure (fraction of a year since the earliest date) from a date dimension, and this is one of the 13 measures. The records span a duration of 2 years. The presence of a continuous time variable (the date measure) makes it possible to use scatter plots to visualize time-series data (instead of using line charts). Thus time can be integrated seamlessly into the virtual scatter plot matrix.
The last measure, Temp Range, was created within Antaeus by subtracting the measure Min Temp from Max Temp (see FunctionsDefining new measures). This was used to partition the third dimension of the same name (see PartitionsDefining new dimensions).
